When it comes to achieving your goals- whether it’s business or personal – do you feel that the biggest obstacle is YOU? Your own mindset?
MINDSET has always been a topic I love to learn about. Not just as a health coach and entrepreneur but even just personally – for my personal goals.
In fact, I did a poll on Facebook last week asking when it comes to weight loss – are you more drawn to mindset or nutrition information and 67% of those who answered chose mindset. No big surprise for me. Why? Because I know that it’s Mind over Matter! Once we get our mind right – anything is possible!
This morning I came across this article from INC Magazine so I thought I would share these tips with you!
10 Ways Mentally Strong People Build Powerful Mindsets
- Power of intention
The article talked about David Bowie and Madonna and how they both had this unshakeable belief in their future success – even BEFORE they were successful. You gotta know it, see it and believe it! And if you don’t quite have that unshakeable belief yet– find yourself some mantras, practice visualization and put yourself around the people that have that kind of belief in themselves!
- Take Time to Think
Top performers understand how important reflection and introspection are. They take time to evaluate their progress and give their mind SPACE to notice and grow new ideas. So important!
- Learn to Deal with Negative Thoughts
Negative thoughts can derail the best of us! It’s important to learn to deal with these negative thoughts in a productive way. Not by suppressing them – but by accepting that they are just thoughts- and those negative thoughts have no real power. Top performers don’t latch onto those negative thoughts -but instead use them to look at the situation in a new light. Then they replace the negative thought with a positive thought. It takes a little time, but you can train your brain to do this!
- Don’t Listen to the Haters
When you start to play BIG- someone is bound to hate on your ideas or your success. ‘Winners don’t give their power away by allowing hate or judgement to affect their ambitions or self -confidence.’ BOOM! ‘nuff said.
Meditation man! Meditation helps calm the mind so you can become aware of your thoughts and emotions. Peak performers know that these moments of stillness can eliminate distraction and help them gain clarity and direction. I totally agree!! Namaste~
- Work with Coaches
Even the most successful people hire coaches to help them. Coaches help with accountability, help keep you focused, help you hone your craft and offer guidance. Nobody does great things alone!
- Constantly Learning
They know that learning is KEY for growth mindset. They read, go to seminars, they INVEST in themselves.
- Have Clear Goals
They know what they want. They have it defined, specific and it’s written down. They keep these goals in the forefront of their mind at all times.
Top performers understand that a healthy mind and body has a direct connection on their professional success. The path to greatness has a lot of physical and emotional demands that are a lot more manageable with a body and mind that is STRONG.
They don’t say Laughter is the best medicine for nothing! Everyone needs to let loose, have a good laugh and release those feel good endorphins!
When your mind is strong – you can handle the ups and downs better. When your mind is weak that’s when you’re prone to make bad decisions because you are operating out of fear or even fatigue.
